Introduction
Welcome! Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Brooke Soltis (Miss Soltis), and I am the owner and instructor at Soltis Music Studios. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, I transitioned from being an elementary music educator and part time private lessons teacher to opening my own, full time studio in 2022! Qualifications and Education Music has always been a passion of mine, thanks to the wonderful, music educators I had throughout my early years. I decided to pursue that passion at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, earning dual Bachelor's degrees in K-12 instrumental and general music education. I enjoyed being an elementary music teacher for seven years, and I have also been teaching private lessons for nine years. My studio in Bellingham opened in September of 2022, specializing in piano, ukulele, and saxophone, as well as group classes and summer camps. Teaching Philosophy While music lessons always involve playing our instruments, my students also learn many other important skills such as perseverance, goal setting, self-discipline, independence, and confidence. You will find that many music students are also leaders among their peers. It is my belief that we cannot only cultivate their musical talents, creativity, and passion, but we can also help build resilient, well-rounded students together through music. What Makes Us Unique No matter the instrument, students will practice: learning to read music, ear training, playing their instrument with confidence, composing their own music, learning music theory and how music is put together, improvising, and growing their love of music. Miss Soltis makes lessons fun and engaging by incorporating students' interests, reinforcement games, movement, and lots of creating. We don't just sit and play out of stuffy, old books here! |
